Default Confused on Armor Drops

Ok, im VERY confused. Sometimes I will get an item that is for ex: " Char Stalker Armor" and like Arm 15, and it says "This item can be salvaged bla bla bla".

Now what Im wondering is, is there some way I can turn this into an armor? Or why do they have the arm of an item there when Im only just going to sell it to store.

Also, sometimes when I identify it, it will show that I have unlocked a certain thingy. What is this for? Do i go somewhere and collect, or is it for pvp only or what?

I am so confused, can I get a lil help please?

You cant make slavage items armor, you gotta salvage it, by salvageing it. you'll get materials to make the armor from the crafters

the reason it wont let you salvage is because you fought too recently. gotta wait a minute or so.

When pop-ups like you have unlocked so and so. is for pvp. whenever you make a pvp char. and if you have a profession/weapon. that can use that item. you can select it.

Everbero You would normally use salvaging kit on armor drop, which will give you crafting materials, unless you get a Gold, Purple, or Blue armor, in which case you use [Expert Salvaging Kit] and this will usually give you Runes.

Gold armor ~ will give you either a Superior or a Major Rune
Purple armor ~ will give you either a Major or a Minor Rune
Blue armor ~ will give you Minor Rune

Take note: Use Expert Salvaging Kit on those 3 diff colored armor to get the runes.

Yes, indentifying the runes are basically for PvP use, just like when you get a new skill it will say that you have unlocked a certain skill, which now you can use for PvP as well.

Hope this will help you.

Well, but there is not better way to get rare crafting materials such as steel or linen than to expert salvage white armor. Highend armor will give even a couple of those.

That helped allot, but I have one more question, what if I use an expert salvage kit on a rare weapon, do I get a bowstring, or handle or whatever? I allways c ppl selling those. And can I use them in non pvp?

Yes, if you have a weapon with a prefix or suffix (i.e. Zealous Longbow) you have a chance to get the upgrade from it if you use an Expert Salvage. However you might also just get wood planks.

Also note that if you have a Longbow with any extra abilities, salvaging it will always just give the wood planks. It's the extra bits to the name that show it has an upgrade to salvage.
